Thomas K. DaRin joined EDI to lead our firm’s enrollment management search practice. Tom served as chief enrollment officer at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York, for 25 years, the last 13 as Vice President for Enrollment Management. During his tenure at Nazareth, full-time undergraduate enrollment grew 65% and quality metrics, such as high school GPA and SAT scores, improved dramatically. Nazareth was the leading producer of Fulbright Scholars in the Masters Institutions category for 2012 and 2013, ranked as a top tier institution in US News & World Report America’s Best Colleges, and listed in Princeton Review’s Best 378 Colleges. Prior to Nazareth College, Tom held senior level admissions and financial aid positions at Long Island University, CW Post and Southampton campuses. Within professional associations, Tom served as chair of the NACAC National College Fair Committee, founded the Rochester National College Fair, and currently assists emerging talent as a faculty member for NACAC’s Admissions Middle Management Institute. In 2008, he was honored by NYSACAC with their Distinguished Service Award.
As an Associate with Lahti Search Consultants from May 2013 to June 2014, Tom assisted eight colleges with their searches for enrollment management professionals. The client institutions included national and regional liberal arts colleges, comprehensive universities, a Jesuit college, and an Early College institution. During the summer of 2014, he served as interim vice president for enrollment at the College of Mt St Vincent in Riverdale, NY while they searched for a new vice president. With RH Perry, Tom has led searches at Lebanon Valley College, Antioch University, San Jose State University, CSU-Dominquez Hills, the University of St Joseph, the University of Wisconsin – Superior, CSU-San Bernardino, Alfred University and Marymount University, as well as providing enrollment management consultation to Marietta College.
Tom received his Bachelor of Arts in History and Masters of Science in Secondary Education degrees from the State University of New York, College at Cortland, and a Masters of Science degree in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University.
Tom and his wife LouAnne reside in Penfield, New York. They have three adult children and three grandchildren. He is actively involved in the community, serving as a trustee for the Allendale Columbia School and Discovery Charter School, and as a Facilitator for the Spiritus Christi Prison Outreach at the maximum security Five Points Correctional Facility.
